Top Secret Lodge
Perfectly named, this remote cottage is nestled on a remote point of land in the shadows of Elephant Mountain on Upper Wilson Pond. Very secluded! The cottage is a 16 X 20 one room log cabin.
It is the only cottage on the east shore, allowing total privacy. Top Secret is accessible by boat from Wilson Pond Camps, by float plane or by vehicle.
The boat ride is approximately 25 minutes long. If you go by vehicle, it is a 45-minute drive from Wilson Pond Camps, to a parking area. From there it is a 15-minute easy walk, on a blazed trail, through the woods. Upon arrival at our base camps, your gear is put into our boat and brought to your cottage.
Top Secret Lodge has its own dock. Because it is a remote cottage it is equipped with an outside privy, gas lights, gas refrigerator /freezer, and gas cook top stove. Pots and pans, dishes, utensils, blankets and pillows are all supplied. There is an outside fireplace, a BBQ grill, and picnic table. There are two Adirondack chairs on the open porch. The kitchen sink offers 100 gallons of lake water during your stay. We also supply you with 10 gallons of drinking water.
The cottage has a dining room table and four chairs. The beds are bunk style, full size. We put clean covers over the mattresses, and clean pillowcases, with blankets supplied if no pets are brought along. You should bring your own blankets if you are bringing a pet. The cottage is heated with a wood stove, of which we supply the wood. There is toilet paper, dish towels, SOS, dish detergent, soap, trash bags, matches, salt and pepper already supplied for your stay.
During the summer months, and beyond, most of our friends who stay at Top Secret Lodge bring a solar bag along with them. They say it is only a "back-up" to take a shower, but prefer swimming in the water instead. Upper Wilson Pond offers Salmon, Lake Trout-Togue, and brook trout. Worms and flies are allowed, but no live bait. Loons, eagles, and other wildlife also await you.
